Minutes from September meeting – please note the bridleway repair which we are hoping to help fund at Ollerton – using BBA funds to assist local riders

Minutes of Meeting – Monday 25th September 2023 – 8pm at the Crown, Goostrey Present approx 10 members including the committee Apologies: Nikki Phillips, Liz Goda, Chairman’s Report – Joy Joy chaired the meeting and welcomed everyone • The minutes from the 26th June 2023 were approved • Next camp: dates to be confirmed (post meeting note – confirmed to be 22nd to 24th April 2024 • We will aim to organise a Silverdale ride maybe able to have a guided ride with Sue • Teggs Nose – Alison arranged a ride today which was great. Unortunately café will close soon and so we need to check who will hold the key • Guided rides work well, with a maximum of 7 riders • Last XC session was cancelled due to lack of entries • Dog agility went well Treasurer’s report – Maggie Marincovic In the bank: £ 21358.31 We are still looking for ideas to spend some of this money on improving Bridleways Membership – Katie Newport A few more members since camp Social Report – Pat Guerin Xmas meal – Heyrose Golf Club. Aim for early December (post meeting note – will be on 8th December) Lessons Flatwork – hire Alsager – small indoor on Saturday mornings for drill, polework and flatwork Show jumping continues at Alsager when numbers allow AOB Gates on bridlepath at North Lodge, Brereton are very difficult to move. Recommended to contact ROW department – need to find grid reference and path number. BHS safety conference 18th November, attend in person or virtually: https://www.bhs.org.uk/events/local-events/bhs-access-safety-conference-2023/ BR6 Ollerton – 100 metres of the bridlepath is virtually unridable in winter with very deep mud. Cheshire East Bridleways representative has viewed and estimated cost to repair will be £5900. BBA agreed to contribute upto 50% for the repair. If this goes ahead we should get some recognition for the contribution possibly in the local paper. Concerns about the bridlegates near the Watertower were also raised and there may be some improvements which can be made to these Request for a Christmas drill ride at Hunters gate. Book on a Saturday for 2 hours – Drill ride and some fun pairs dressage. Dressage Saturday 6th January – friendly competition with competition attire preferred but optional. Next meeting: Will be at the Christmas meal
